Showground Concrete Polishing

Brief: JMS Lincoln’s work site, a local Showground is an events venue with a difference, set in over 270 acres of land and with a number of flexible indoor spaces. From dinners to delegates, exhibitions to entertaining and shows to sustainability, the Showground team really do live and breathe events meaning this project required a high-quality floor for its many guests all year round. The showground’s exhibition hall was in need of renovation and required a floor surface that was not only robust and hard-wearing, but also aesthetically pleasing and in fitting with the nature of the business that would last the lifetime of the building.

Existing Paint Ground

1st Stages

JMS were chosen for the project with the first process removing the existing paint system by diamond grinding, beginning the first stage of exposing the natural aggregate in the existing concrete. The entire process was dust free and involved grinding away the existing concrete latencies, removing the top layers of concrete, and exposing the underlying, stronger concrete.

A polished floor makes it easier to clean for its occupants and is more resistant to tyre marks from forklifts, dirt, and other contaminants. The process was carried out in accordance with well-established and tested methods with many different stages probable resulting in a different appearance of your concrete floor, this project specifically went up to a 400-grit resin to maintain the clients budget whilst continuing with a quality floor. Using our BMG-220 nicknamed ‘The Bull’ which is the largest grinder/concrete polisher in Europe, specialising in a dry concrete polishing process.

The result - a new glossy, easy to maintain floor that will last the lifetime of the building
